The Long story
I'm Sanaz, and I am the mother. My son was 14 years old when he stopped eating red meat. When I asked him why he would say it's not good for our health. I started researching, and as a family, we watched documentaries, including What the Health and Forks Over Knives. One evening after watching Forks Over Knives and seeing the cruelty towards animals and the many diseases of eating a herbivore diet, we looked at each other silently. The next day, we stopped eating all animal foods and never looked back. We started eating plant-based by cooking our usual meals, except we excluded animal products. My daughter, who was 10 years old at the time, started developing plant-based recipes. My husband, age 55 at the time, gradually minimized animal products. Even though he still eats minimal animal products, he has supported our food choices from the beginning. After a few months of eating plant-based, we decided to share our recipes through Instagram to inspire anyone to improve their health. I continued my research in plant-based nutrition and chronic disease. I also obtained my Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies by eCornell.
Learning about plant-based eating has been the most eye-opening experience of my life. It is the best experience I have shared with my children. I will always be grateful to my son for his courage in starting this journey, my daughter for her courage in coming on this journey and developing recipes, and my husband for supporting our journey. After a few months of eating plant-based, we decided to share our recipes to inspire you. And it's important to share our knowledge and experience with the world for their health, animals, and our planet. I know most people wait to change their food diets, and we are not expecting this from you. Making any change toward incorporating plants into your diet is amazing!
