Instructions:
1. Prepare the Mint - Place the fresh mint leaves in a teapot, bowl, or large heatproof mug. There is no need to chop or bruise the leaves. Simply place them in loosely.
2. Add Boiling Water - Pour 720ml of boiling water over the mint leaves. Stir gently to ensure all the leaves are fully submerged and in contact with the hot water.
3. Steep the Tea - Cover the teapot or mug and let the mint steep for 5 minutes for a lighter flavor or up to 10 minutes for a stronger, more intense mint taste.
4. Strain the Leaves - Pour the tea through a fine mesh strainer into cups, removing all the mint leaves. Discard or compost the used leaves.
5. Sweeten or Flavor (Optional) - Add maple syrup, a squeeze of lemon, or sugar to taste if desired. Stir well to combine.
6. Serve - Serve hot immediately. For an iced version, let the tea cool to room temperature then pour over ice for a refreshing chilled mint tea.
