Avocado Toast

Ingredients:
- 1 slice bread of choice
- ½ large avocado, sliced
- 1 small tomato or 1 slice tomato
- 16 g (2 tbsp) everything bagel seasoning

Instructions:
- Toast the Bread
Toast 1 slice bread of choice until golden and crisp. - Add the Avocado
Slice or fan out ½ large avocado and lay across the toast. Gently press so it adheres. - Add the Tomato
Place 1 small tomato or 1 slice tomato on top of the avocado. - Season and Serve
Sprinkle generously with 16 g (2 tbsp) everything bagel seasoning. Serve immediately.
Notes:
Use ripe avocados — the flesh should give slightly when pressed. Underripe avocados won’t mash smoothly and lack flavor. Season the avocado generously — it needs salt and acid to taste its best.
Tips:
Toast the bread until fully golden and crispy. A firm toast holds up to the avocado without getting soggy.
Storage:
Best assembled and eaten immediately. Press plastic wrap directly onto mashed avocado to slow browning if making ahead.
Swaps:
Any crusty bread works — sourdough, whole grain, or rye. For gluten-free, use gluten-free toast or rice cakes.
