    Prep

Sweeten the tea while it's still warm, right after steeping — maple syrup dissolves instantly into hot tea but takes forever to mix in once it's already iced.

    Instructions:

    1. Boil water — Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil.
    2. Steep — Remove from heat. Add hibiscus and chamomile tea bags plus fresh mint sprigs. Steep for 5–7 minutes (longer = stronger flavor).
    3. Sweeten — While still warm, stir in maple syrup until dissolved. Taste and adjust.
    4. Strain & cool — Remove tea bags and mint. Pour into a pitcher and let cool to room temperature.
    5. Chill — Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours until cold.
    6. Serve — Pour over ice, garnish with fresh mint, lemon slices, and edible flowers.

    Cold Brew Method

Add tea bags and mint to cold water in a pitcher. Refrigerate overnight (8–12 hours). Strain, sweeten, and serve over ice.

Common Mistakes, Notes, Storage, Swaps & Tips

Tips: Hibiscus brews a stunning deep magenta — beautiful for serving at gatherings. Don't over-steep hibiscus as it can become too tart; 5–7 minutes is the sweet spot. Add a splash of pomegranate juice for extra depth of color and flavor.

Swaps: Hibiscus can be swapped for rosehip or berry herbal tea. Chamomile can be swapped for lavender or lemon balm. Maple syrup can be swapped for simple syrup or coconut sugar syrup.

Storage: Keeps refrigerated for up to 5 days in a sealed pitcher. Stir before serving.

    Why these Ingredients

Every ingredient here earns its place, but a few really shape the dish. The fresh mint sprigs adds a cool, refreshing herbal note. The maple syrup or agave brings natural sweetness with a hint of caramel depth. The lemon adds acidity that brightens and balances the dish. The ice cubes chills the drink and keeps the texture light.
